PR Water Solution – Solar Distillation

Problem – Water – Water is contaminated / no fresh water.
Solution – Solar Water Distillation
Discussion – Materials needed to build a solar still? How to teach people to build them? Can they make enough water for everyone? Where are they needed most?
There are many ways to make a solar still. Some are fancy and many are very simple.
Simple Ones
1. Two plastic bottles attached together in the openings. Put water in one then set in the sun on an incline with water in lower bottle. The sun will evaporate the water and condense in the upper one where you will have it drain out into another container.
2. A small jar inside a larger container. The smaller jar contains the water and is set in the middle of the larger container which is sealed. Set this in the sun and the water from the smaller jar will evaporate and condense into the larger container.
3. Dig a hole in the ground. Pour contaminated water into the hole and let it soak in. Place a container in the center of the hole. Cover the hole with a plastic material like a from a trash bag. Place a rock over the location of the container below. Water will condense on the plastic and drip into the container.
*There are many more easy ones like those.*
Larger ones can be built but require more material.
Pyramid Example- This one can be improved with focused solar from mirrors or lenses and can even make electricity if modified.

By adding the lenses creation technique from the video below you can hasten the distillation process and create electricity by using the steam and heat to move a motor to create electricity.

Puerto Rico Volunteer Farming Mission?

Well, I have spent a lot of time sewing recently and not being proactive in looking for work. I have one job kind on the hook, I just got job lead to work with a traveling Disney Show but I also have the potential to possible go to Puerto Rico to help with farming.

I have been wanting to go to Puerto Rico because I think this would be a prime time to go teach permaculture methods, water purification methods and how to build generators out of old electric motors. The only way I could get there is with support of friends, family or strangers helping with the plane ticket. I could likely hitch my way to Florida from Texas but still gotta find a way to jump over that water. It would be an interesting, rough but rewarding adventure. I highly doubt I will get any donations from my family because they do not really do humanitarian things. I got one friend that already payed for a plane ticket to get me to South East Texas to volunteer there helping people recover from hurricane Harvey. So I am not sure if I would desire him, my battle buddy, to donate on this trip but he is the only likely one I could think of doing so.

I am considering trying to do a patch gift or artwork type thing to entice donations. But with all the scammers out there it will be difficult to solicit the money. I have done some fund raising for other organizations but even that was even hard to find people willing to donate to reputable organizations. But if I can raise the $200 I need I am going to Puerto Rico. That is fairly cheap but at my current location my options of making cash on my own are slim to nil.

The farm is being rented and paid for by retired captain from the army who is an RN and with a nurse in NY who just returned from a Puerto Rico.  The Army captain is getting access to services in NY and needs help rebuilding her farm. Since my goal is to one day build a farm this will benefit both she and I. It could also be good for me to work with a fellow veteran. Well, wish me luck please! Still not very experienced with wordpress so not sure if it is like Facebook “Like, Comment, Share” haha. If any one is interested in helping please share or  Donate to House 13oom Here, you can also check out my Facebook page here, and my Instagram Here which has a couple videos and pictures from my work in South East Texas. Well, lets see if the Lord wills me to go to Puerto Rico. Thank you for your time.

Collaboration – Like minds for sustainability.

Dreams are just goals you have not planned to finish. In 2009 when I got out of the military I had two goals. First I wanted to travel the USA by means of hitch hiking the country and getting to know the American people. But my bigger goal is to one day build a community based on off grid sustainability. I have spent many years traveling the USA, learning about sustainable solutions, and looking for like minded people.

First, I wanted to find out more about the country I served for. I wanted to know if my service was worth it because at that point in my life I was stressed out from my time in military and the affairs of my country for my fellow Americans were fighting with each other and hate seemed to be a common plight. Furthermore, I knew very little about many of the states that make up the USA so I figured walking and hitch hiking would be a great way to learn about each state and its residents. To my delight I found that love is still found across the land and that people are happy and willing to help out their fellow man. I met many loving and interesting people and found sustainable living solutions is a common interest among them.

Next, after a year of travel I started getting educated by going to college and doing research on alternative power, permaculture and off grid sustainability. Before leaving the military I started a Facebook page House 13oom and began using that page to share ideas and try to find people with similar goals. Unfortunately I did not have much, if any, progress to get people to take an interest in a sustainability and an off grid self sufficient eco community. Disheartened I let the project gather dust as I continued to travel and educate myself. Years later some friends of mine from the military started talking about wanting to do more with their lives and even mentioned wanting to build what I have been trying to accomplish. In the end they decided to let things like sex, drugs or pursuit of money to distract them for accomplishing something great.

Finally, after many years of feeling alone, I have met a man with like minded goals. His project and Facebook page Pyramid Greens almost mirrors the goals of my project House 13oom which is to use the pyramid shape to design, build and use technologies in a congruent system that can create a power, food and make clean water for an off grid sustainable community. Where one day communities shall be built on land, sea and even take to the air with goals of taking mankind into space. These communities will have the potential to one day grow to large cities that could support man for generations to come and beyond.

In conclusion, my travels have shown me that people want sustainability, that there are technologies not being used that could be used to build the cities of the future and it can only happen by gathering like minded people that share the same goals. Hopefully with the collaboration of Pyramid Greens and House 13oom we can gather the people with dreams of a better tomorrow then use this community to discuss and share ideas. When the people come together anything is possible and I would like to encourage anyone with interests in off grid living, sustainability and eco community’s to join our efforts.

I have a Facebook page I have been trying to use to share cool stuff and promote ideas, people and organizations. I recently joined an off the grid group on Facebook and they asked for a book that we has helped us learn. I got a cool book a while back called “Five Acres and Independence” and it is a practical guild to the selection and management of a small farm. Now it was first published in 1935 but I got a copy from 1946. It is one of my favorite things I still own. So I took a picture to share on my Instagram, mostly just to keep it moving, and then shared it to my House 13oom Facebook page. Well Facebook game me a $10 dollar credit to boost the post and I figured, why not, and used it to promote the post. Surprised it worked and a bit disappointed I did not use the other free $10 bucks to boost other posts. Good to know for future posts. That is all.

Déjà vu?

Is any one else experiencing Déjà vu? I have been experiencing it for a couple weeks now. I am having wild dreams of rapture and visions of possible futures. It is weird and could be scary but I am experienced with such things.

Biblically all this drama in the world has been for told. It reads that the devil will take hold of the world. I believe he has had it a long time. I believe we are in the times of judgment. It matters not if you are pro Trump or anti Trump, for his only purpose is to bring out the hate that both sides are shouting.

Anti Trump people are yelling hate and even wishing murder upon this man. Useing the same type of hate and lies the pro Trump supporters use. While pro Trump people are being used by the Trump agenda to make hate and give our citizens justification to be hateful because of race, sexuality and gender.

Pro Trump Christians are praising him instead of God. I have seen Christians advocate running over ANTFI protesters. I have seen them use the hate in their heart to condemn people kneeling. Christans condemn homosexuality while disrespecting marriage with divorce, cheating and pre marital sex. Christan leaders corrupted by money by taking the tides and living in comfort while their people suffer from storms and hunger.

How can anyone want come to God and Jesus while these people throw there hate and with pride say they are better then another man. While they use the Bible to attack those they are called to help and testify to.

I say to you this. Now is the time to put away the sins that harm you. Now is the time to come to God. Not as the Christian demands but as God asks. God is easy, God is loving. God does not want you to suffer this world. This world is sin. Praising Trump is a sin. Hating Trump is a sin. Focus on God and Jesus and let God handle the rest. You cannot save or change the people but you can change how you deal with them.

Christans and non Christans are being devoured by the evil of this world. Their souls are being corrupted by news, politics and the love of money. Busy are they with fear of the course world. That fear turns to hate and is being spread like a cancer upon the nation only serving to destroy them, our country and world.

Have no fear! All the troubles that are being used to kill us could, through faith in God, be used to unite us and guide us to the light of his love. Sell your possessions give it to the needy. For no matter how big your house, your walls… No matter how many guns or supplies you have…
When the big storm comes. It will kill the faithful and unfaithful alike. But where you end up will be the difference.

Sewing up an old friend

Sitting here sewing up my bag. Getting to the really messed up parts. I have had this bag so long it has become a close friend. The wounds I am sewing are almost grotesque. Fixing a knarly head wound that should require a patch. But I am only pulling the skin fairly close together and basically weaving new cloth. Then I must fix a huge opening in the side, already repaired two, but this one is torn in many angles. After that it is on to the small holes and ones that will potentially become holes.

My mother asked why I would want to spend all this time and energy on this pack when I could just use one of the army duffles. First off because my bag has better straps and only can hold so much before full. Next because I am now very much used to this one and it is almost sentimental to me. But mostly it is because why would I not put the time and effort to repair something that has served me well for 8 years to downgrade to something that won’t work nearly as well just to save time and energy. I have a rule with my equipment. If it cannot take the abuse of my normal life and breaks too easy then it is not for me. If an item can survive threw hell with me and breaks after many long hard battles then I will fix or replace.

This whole sewing project has me thinking of friendships and relationships current and past. I have had to dispose of many people these last couple years and more so these last couple months. Some of the reasons because I have been the equipment that was being neglected after many years of service with no care received back and sometimes because that person has proven to fragile to be close to me. With my roughness I have also avoided certain relationships because I fear to hurt them. But of the fragile ones I had to let go some were let go because they were too fragile to have opinions challenged and grew offended too often. Others were let go because I did not wish to offend because of my beliefs so to spare them being upset I removed me from their life. But of the few friends I still call as such. They should know that much like this bag I would never throw them away. I will put the time and effort to try to repair them with any and all means I have. But there are somethings that I cannot repair. Sometimes they must be sent away to others in hopes that that other person can do the job better then I can. But just because I have sent them away does not mean I don’t love them or need them. It only means something is missing from my life.

Power of the People

Hello, my name is Thomas. I am a professional nomad. Mostly just a fancy way to say jobless and homeless or as I prefer “houseless”.

I have spent 12 months traveling the country. Out of all the things I have done this year the three weeks I volunteered in South East Texas helping people recover from hurricane Harvey is likely the most important. I befriended a judge while helping a boy’s troubled home, made family with a couple when I helped them demo and install new floors. The Cajun Navy took me in and allowed me to help the demo and deliver supplies to people. I met a great man in Port Arthur who is basically running things down there by taking care of his community. But unfortunately my brash behavior and head strong attitude got me black balled by the organization I sought to join.

So after three weeks of doing all I can to help, I returned to Dallas to recover physically and mentally. The “warzone” looking area of Rose City, TX and the surrounding areas brought up things I had thought I under control. I have spent years trying to deny that I had PTSD from my deployment to Iraq but when I started to have nightmares that were a mixture of Iraq and hurricane related stuff. I was heartbroken to have to leave the area. But as many people kept telling me. “You got to take care of yourself first.” So I came to Dallas with hopes of getting a service connection for PTSD with VA.

Well… I have made no progress on that because since then I have been focusing all my attention on helping a friend I met while helping The Cajun Navy with his goal of sending medical supplies and personnel, including his self, to Puerto Rico to give much need medical treatment to those effected by hurricane Maria. I have been using my Facebook page @House13oom to promote his cause and do fundraiseing to help him complete his mission. This brings me to the point of this blog… The power of the people.

I was sitting in San Diego after completing a hitching journey from Canada to Mexico when Harvey hit. I called a buddy I served with and asked him to put money into my account so I could fly to Dallas. From there I got online and started searching for a ride to South East Texas. It took me a week but I had many strangers actively seeking me a ride and finally got a ride with a man leaving the Dallas area to go help do demo work. Through a contact with one group helping I was connected to a Judge and after bunking at his house for a night I helped a boy’s troubled home. Next, I walked city to city to try to volunteer my services for free but all I got was cash donations. I gave the money to homeless people I met along the way and did manage to find one couple to help, who I have already mentioned. Now, since my return to Dallas I have spent my time finding and sharing information on Puerto Rico. Mostly I find people with supplies that need delivered and I connect them with other people. I have made contacts all over the country and this has begun to lead into contacts world wide. For America has been hit with four hurricanes and recently a shooting in Las Vegas, but the whole world is in strife right now. Droughts in Kenya, flooding in India I believe, earthquakes in Mexico are just a few of the  horrible events that are still effecting billions of people around the world.

As I sit comfortably at my mother’s house, watching the TV show “Wisdom of the Crowd” I was reminded of all the people that have helped me this year and in the recent weeks. Mind boggling is the logistics that are happening right now by people on computers or like me with a crummy phone and wifi. I am helping people in Puerto Rico by helping my friend complete his medical mission. I am connecting doctors with supplies and transport. I have no job and no money. I cannot donate to a fund but I can spread the awareness. I want to go help rebuild but without being part of a funded team it limits my effectiveness. If I can do such things with my limited resources and so many others doing the same… What would happen if we all took responsibility for the welfare of our neighbors, of those in need, those that cannot do for their selves? What would that world look like? To me it is a beautiful dream. One that is definitely possible if we could come together as one people.

Below I will add a few of the organizations and fundraisers I feel deserve attention. There are hundreds of plights out there and we can overcome those if we just try.

Thank you.
